A 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck southwest Mexico early Thursday, killing at least one person just days after another deadly quake struck.

Officials in the capital Mexico City have confirmed that a woman fell to her death at her home in the Colonia doctor’s district. Tremors could be felt in the city, raising alarms and prompting many to evacuate their homes, Reuters reported.

The quake came on the heels of a 7.6-magnitude quake that hit Mexico on Monday, marking the anniversary of two other major quakes.

Monday’s earthquake damaged many buildings in Mexico City, causing power outages in parts of the capital and killing at least two people.
