Donald Trump has bizarrely hinted that the FBI is looking for Hillary Clinton’s emails while searching his Florida Mar-a-Lago estate.
“There doesn’t have to be a process [in declassifying documents]…I declassified everything,” the former president said in an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity on Wednesday, when asked if there was a process to declassify the documents.
The former president went on to suggest that federal agencies may be looking for Clinton’s emails.
“There is also a lot of speculation because of what they did, the gravity of the FBI coming to attack Mar-a-Lago. Are they looking for the Hillary Clinton emails that were deleted but somewhere nearby? They probably thought it was in there! ‘ Mr Trump said.
Earlier this month, Ms Clinton said “every American should be concerned” about classified documents seized at Mr Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in August.
In another bizarre claim made in the interview, Trump said the president of the United States would only have to “think about it” before declassifying the documents.
The former president also claimed that FBI agents took his last will when they searched his office.
“They spent a lot of money. I think they took my will. I found out yesterday,” he said.
Clips of Sean Hannity’s interview went viral on social media, prompting users to come up with their best one-liners to mock the former president.
“Gosh, one more, it’s getting more fun and ridiculous, I’m dying!!” one user said.
Another mocked him and said:
“Public Service Announcement from AMTA. The Magical Minds Association of America has this presidential decree in its rules: If you’re the President of the United States, you can decipher by thinking. This happened after the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy,” another user said.
The interview comes after the New York attorney general accused the Trump Organization of inflating his net worth by billions and habitually misleading banks.
Letitia James also names his three adult children, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and Ivanka Trump, as defendants in her lawsuit.
In the interview, Mr. Trump accused the bank of relying on his own numbers for tax valuation of its business.
