Rep. Karen Bass (D-CA) acknowledged Wednesday night during a debate among the candidates for mayor of Los Angeles that her sense of physical safety in the city has dropped from a “10/10” in March to a “5/5″ today. 10”, after her home was burglarized.
Billionaire real estate developer Rick Caruso, who was second only to Bath in the primaries, responded: “You’re worried about your kids going to school. I don’t want to give my kids a ‘5’ and say, ‘Okay, Your chances of success are 50/50.'”
Crime is one of the main issues in the election, along with homelessness — although Bass, like other Democrats, has used the abortion issue to motivate voters against Caruso, a former Republican who has in the past Donate to pro-life candidates.

The two candidates clashed over their homelessness policies and an ongoing bribery case at USC, where Bass was not the target of prosecution, where she was awarded a $95,000 scholarship that she belatedly Report to Congress.
